Design Studio students created their original design magazines.  Each team of four was responsible for the content, including text and photography, as well as layout and publication.

Design Studio students presented original costume and set designs to a panel of OE and district staff.

 

Each team chose a book to read and then designed sets and costumes, as well as a companion movie book cover and trailer.

Design Studio students presented commercial designs to a full house of parents, teachers and administrators.  Each team selected a foreign country to create a destination spot.  Each team was responsible for creating an original concept, logo, interior design plan, original garment, & marketing tools.

Design Trends and Design Council, along with Design Studio and Textile Studio, produced the annual fashion show, Palace Insider.   

 

Each scene showcased orignal work by students inspired by a variety of themes.  

 

This year, the show featured 144 students, 3 alumni, 21 staff members & 7 little hawks.

Design Studio students presented their retail design business plans.  Each team created a unique fashion business and designed their stores considering target markets, multiple marketing tools, price points, store location, store layout and merchandising.

Design Studio students spend time researching the ultimate career goal they plan to reach within the design industry and make a specific plan to achieve that goal. They look at educational requirements as well as transferable skills required, but further their research to defining an educational and professional plan extending past post-secondary training to achieve their goals.

Design Studio students have installed new displays for fall.  They are located right outside the library in the 600 hallway. 

A design journal is a notebook in which a designer keeps track of ideas, sketches, concepts, inspirations and anything else that pertains to the design work he or she does.

 

Studio students work on their design journal throughout the year.  As with all Design Studio projects, the assignments are similar for each student, but the outcome is unique.

Design Trends students produced the annual spring fashion show, Perfect Fit, showcasing their original designs and those of Design Studio and Textile Design 1 & 2.

Interior Design 1 students created a variety of funrniture pieces using shipping pallets.

 

The students were responsible for researching and designing a construction plan and executing that plan. They had the option to work individualy or in teams.
